We stayed at the Ruebel hotel for 1 night after a night out in Grafton. Very nice little hotel. Tons of history. We met the owners son and the owner upon check-in. Very nice people. I was a little hungover (late night) during Sunday morning’s breakfast and the owner actually walked across the street to the gas station to get me some meds because he was out. We would definitely stay here again.

After reading some of the reviews about poor customer service, we were a little leery of staying here, but are so glad we did! The owner was arriving just as we were and walked us in and took care of checking us in, and he had a great sense of humor and bantered back and forth with us with ease. The hotel is gorgeous with beautiful wood work, tons of character, and neat accents like stained glass panels in the transoms above the room doors. Room is somewhat small, but incredibly comfortable and we had everything we needed. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights and not only was it fabulous, but the staff(even the chef) came out multiple times to check on us and make sure everything was to our liking. My only regret was that the bar was closed both evenings when we returned from local area fireworks shows around 10:30pm, but that’s hardly the bars fault. The recent area flooding has had a huge impact on tourism and there quite simply was nobody in the bar much past 9pm. Would love to return and experience the deck after dark. Seems like it would be a very nice atmosphere with the nice colorful lighting and view of the river.
